Trip Details Ski Austria​

Included:

• Welcome packet! It's a surprise.
• 7 Nights in a beautiful home with breathtaking views.

• A private and comfortable room. Balcony and mountain views. A sink is available in your room, yet bathrooms and showers are shared throughout the home. 

• Breakfast, Lunch to go, and six dinners. If you prefer to buy lunch during the day that will be on you.
• Daily transportation, Lift/Gondola Tickets, Rentals for organized and planned day trips.

• Guided day trips to amazing new places.

• Pick-up and drop-off at Salzburg train station and/or airport.

Day 1

We will pick you up no later than 3:00 PM in Salzburg and head to our destination Gosau about an hour drive southeast of Salzburg. A small town surrounded by beautiful mountains. After you settled into your cozy room, we will take you on a short hike, stretch, and go for a local dinner. As soon as we return to our beautiful home, we will introduce you to your Via Ferrata gear for an adventurous week of climbing ahead. Get a good night's sleep with fresh mountain air., so that you'll be ready for day two in the mountains. 

Day 2

Training ViaFerrata Sinabell. The warm-up to the first ViaFerrata is a three-hour hike to the Guttenberghaus where we will enjoy a light lunch before we head to the first ViaFerrata. The first warm-up climb is about one hour round trip. Easy climb for about 30 min with a difficulty A/B/C/ optional D. This will be a good intro ViaFerrata before heading to the next level. The optional second climb up the red route on the right. Difficulty A/B/C/D can be taken or you rest at the Guttenberghaus and enjoy a drink until the rest of the group comes back from this second climb. Together we will head back to town and enjoy a local dinner at a cozy restaurant. 

Day 3

Laserer Alpine ViaFerrata! A scenic route with a difficulty of B/C and about a 2h trip. Today we'll have some time to take it easy so you can enjoy your free time on your own or with your new friends and guides doing what you desire. Explore the friendly town of Gosau or put your legs up at the cozy and beautiful home and enjoy the view. Your guide can give you the recommendations that you are looking for.

Day 4

Today, we will head to the world-famous Donnerkogel and climb The Ladder to Heaven. Amazing views and a good thrill will be waiting for you!  It takes about 3h to climb and 1.5h to hike back down. Difficulty between C/D! 

We'll finish the day with an Austrian Schnitzel dinner before heading back to our home. An optional stretch/relax/meditation session will be offered before heading off to bed.

Day 5

We'll take a day off from climbing mountains and visit the birthplace of famous composer Mozart. You have the day to do what you desire. Your guides can and will help with decision-making. Salzburg has great shopping, beautiful cafes and restaurants, and lots of culture to experience. Guaranteed something for everyone!

After dinner, we'll take you all back to our home in Gosau. We will introduce the next day adventure and head off to bed

Day 6

Anna and Johann ViaFerrata.  This will be one of the longest and hardest climbs. We probably see some snow! Dress in layers and bring a smile to this route. The tour is rated difficulty D/E and takes all day ~10h. You need to be in great shape to manage this route. The elevation gain is over 5000ft and a round trip of about 6miles. Great adventure! Amazing views!

Day 7

Klettersteig Heidi! 'Heidi is the moving story of a little orphaned Swiss girl who finds happiness in her Alpine paradise and touches those around her with her warm heart and high moral values..' (houseofswitzerland.org) Just like Heidi, we will find happiness on this route like we did on the previous once. We will have plenty of time to take in the incredible views once again and breathe the fresh mountain air before we head for a last local dinner.

Day 8

Today you will return your gear and say goodbye to your team and new life-long friends, but before you say your farewells we will go for breakfast at the Kaffewerkstatt and a walk by the lake. Make sure to exchange contact info and stay in touch until the next trip with Higheruptours. Stay tuned we are continuously working on new adventures and trips.

Not Included:

• Airfare from and to Europe.  We recommend arriving a few days early and maybe stay a few extra days, or weeks! We are happy to help you with a recommendation before and after our stay.

• Train ticket to Salzburg if you don't fly into Salzburg. If possible add that to your airfare, it will save you a few dollars.

• Trip Insurance. We highly recommend purchasing your own in case of an emergency. 

• Alcohol. 
• Private bathroom and Shower.  But no worries, there are enough throughout the house,. We keep them clean for all of our guests! Poo Pourri will be provided! :)

• Refunds due to the weather. Sorry, we can not control the weather, but we have a fantastic and adventurous backup plan.
