Day 1 

Ready to fall in love with this amazing South American country? From food to mountains Ecuador has it all! In the morning we will head to a local market to enjoy some delicious breakfast accompanied by fresh juice. We will start acclimatizing by hiking Rucu Pichincha, a volcano just outside of Quito. We will take the teleferico that goes from 9,400 to 13,000 feet. From there, we will hike for around three hours taking in the views from the city. In the afternoon we will spend time downtown.

 

Day 2

Now the adventure begins! We will have breakfast in Quito, do a gear check with the guides before going to the gear rental shop. Once the equipment is good to go we will head to Cotopaxi National Park. The drive is about 2 hours before making it Tambopaxi Lodge, where we will spend the night. There will be time to settle in and walk around the open area to take in the amazing view of Cotopaxi. Dinner will be served at the lodge. Rest is crucial before a summit attempt. Around 6:00 pm lights are out!

 

Day 3

Who is ready to climb the world's highest active volcano? Cotopaxi's summit is waiting for you at 19, 347 feet! We will start getting ready at 10:00 pm and have a light breakfast in the lodge. Once we are ready we will drive an hour to the trailhead and start our summit push at 1:00 am. There will be 2 climbers per guide. Every team will reach the summit at its own pace. To celebrate your big accomplishment a hot shower and lunch will be waiting for you at the lodge before we drive 4 hours Chakana Lodge for our next adventure.

Day 4

It's a rest day! Nobody ever said it should be boring. We will have plenty of time to relax and enjoy the good company of our guides and new adventure partners. Who is excited to rope climb one of the best-hidden spots in Ecuador? The canyon by Chakana Lodge is full of climbing routes, so you can choose your route, and let's get HIGHERUP! All meals will be served at the lodge. You will have the time to interact with Quechua people and purchase their crafts.

Day 5

From Chakana Lodge we will drive to Chimborazo National Park. The adventure begins today as we hike to Chimborazo's high camp at 17, 484 feet. We will get settled in before enjoying dinner at one of the fixed tents. Let's get some rest before our summit push.

Day 6

Today is the day to reach the farthest point from the center of the Earth at 20,564 feet. The climb is steep, but you will be rewarded once you reach the summit. Enjoy every step of the way and just take it all in! Breakfast will be served at high camp before we hike back to the parking lot where the bus will be waiting for us. We will head back to Quito.

Day 7

What an amazing time in Ecuador, but every adventure has to come to an end. As you head back to Quito's airport is time to dream of your next adventure. Thank you for being part of this expedition. More mountains will be waiting for you!
